About Us

The Madison County Amateur Radio Club, Inc. was started in the late 1940s as the Anderson Radio Amateurs Club. The name was changed and the club was incorporated in 1952. Through the years the most active amateurs in Madison County have participated in this club. The present club continues the tradition of maintaining a communications club area within the ECC with multiple HF stations and computer logging equipment available to members. Club members regularly participate in contests, Field Day, and various “outreach” events and also support “MCU-2” a mobile communications vehicle with amateur radio stations, antennas, etc. Theory classes for new amateurs are held as needed. Club membership is around 40 with a typical meeting attendance of 20 plus. This is an ARRL Affiliated club.

Visiting hams and prospective hams are always welcome at our meetings and events
